On Saturday 5 April, the North Durban Lions played bingo with many of the residents of the TAFTA On Ridge old age home. The residents had a really fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Several rounds of bingo were organised so that many residents could have a chance to win a prize. The club also supplied cake to go with each resident’s tea, ensuring that the frail-care residents got some cake as well. Some photos of the very enjoyable service project:

The club was asked to provide popcorn at a private super-hero themed party on Saturday 5 April. We received an extremely generous donation towards the club’s service to those in need. Many thanks to Di of Vuzu Entertainment for thinking of us and getting us involved.
Lions Ian Ross and Neil Aubert served the popcorn, which was a big hit. They’re wearing super-hero capes in the photo, although of course, all Lions are super-heroes!
4 of the clubs members attended the excellent 2014 District Convention hosted by the Howick/Umgeni Lions Club on 22 March. DC’s Vicki and Kim van Wyk both presented on their portfolios for the year as part of the District cabinet. Lions Trevor Hobbs and Ivanka Reynolds also attended and enjoyed the convention.
DC Vicki was presented with a well deserved certificate of appreciation from Lions Clubs International for her work on diabetes awareness and blood drives through the year.
The club was also recognised for its many hours of dedicated service to those in need through the year.
The club is also proud to announce that DC Kim van Wyk was elected as the Second Vice District Governor for the 2014/2015 Lionistic year. He should serve as the District 410C Governor from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017.
The North Durban Lions Club congratulate DG Heather Hardman and the Howick/Umgeni Lions Club on an excellent and extremely well organised convention.
